While the majority of real estate developers are still focused on renovating buildings in accordance with energy efficiency regulations, gewobau Rüsselsheim is already taking a comprehensive approach. Following the completion of the energy-efficient renovation of the residential buildings at Hasengrund 70-72, gewobau undertook the redesign of the outdoor area, incorporating low-carbon paving stones.

gewobau Rüsselsheim utilized significantly CO2-reduced paving stones, expertly crafted by our partner Nüdling Betonelemente with ecoLocked Materials. In this project, 1.5 tonnes of eLM Zero were used, which permanently store over 3.6 tonnes of CO2.

Thanks to using eLM Zero, the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of these paving stones is 78% lower than that of typical pavers in Germany. This effect  was documented via life-cycle analysis and verified by independent third parties.

eLM Zero meets the requirements of DIN-EN 1338 & 1339, making it ideally suited for addressing the CO2 footprint of various concrete products, including pavers and concrete slabs. In this way, we help concrete producers reduce the net carbon footprint of their products and ultimately enable developers to make their projects more climate-friendly.
