Front Steps and Concrete Deck for a House in Brandenburg

Utilization of eLM Zero in pre-cast concrete

Crafted by: BNB-Beton und Naturstein Babelsberg GmbH

Date: Summer 2024

Location: Brandenburg, Germany

In this project, large concrete slabs and steps were custom-made for a private house in Brandenburg. These carbon-neutral concrete elements were expertly produced by our partner BNB, utilizing a two-layer approach. The core layer contains eLM Zero, our biochar-based, CO2-negative material, while the top layer features a sleek white concrete finish.

This method demonstrates how aesthetic preferences for lighter colors can be achieved through thoughtful design solutions like using a two-layer solution. It’s a perfect example of how green concrete with a black core can be covered with other colors, demonstrating that climate-neutrality and design flexibility can go hand in hand.
